Illustrator Tutorial - Create a Shiny Button
We've shown you how to create a shiny button in Photoshop, but here's a simple way to do the same thing in Illustrator. Why use Illustrator instead of Photoshop? It is vector, which mean it is scaleable. It is easier and faster to make with Illustrator (less steps). Easier to change colors, just need to fill the circles with different colors. 1. Select the Ellipse Tool and, with Shift held down, draw a circle. Use the colour picker in the toolbar to choose a suitable colour and 'no fill'.
	With this circle selected, copy it (Ctrl + C) and then Paste In Front (Ctrl + F). Scale it down about 40% and drag it slight below the center point of the original circle. With it still selected, select a lighter colour to fill it.
Select both circles and go to OBJECT...Blend...Make.
To finish it off with a 'light reflection', make an oval path and fill it with black & white Gradient and place it on top of the circles. (Note: if your color setting is CMYK, make sure the black for the gradient is full black(C=100, M=100, Y=100, K=100). With the oval path selected, go to Transparency palette, select Screen mode. If your Transparency palette is not showing, go to WINDOW...Transparency.
